Los Angeles Dodgers (40-23) versus Los Angeles Angels (24-39)
LOS ANGELES, CA—The annual Freeway Series returns this weekend as the Los Angeles Dodgers welcome the Los Angeles Angels to Dodger Stadium for a three-game set. The Dodgers enter the series playing some of their best baseball of the season, winning seven of their last 10 games while continuing to pace the National League West. The Angels, meanwhile, have gone 5-5 over their last 10 contests and are looking to build momentum after hovering around the .500 mark for much of the season.
These clubs last met in May 2025, when the Dodgers completed a three-game sweep of the Angels. Los Angeles outscored its crosstown rival 18-6 in the series and received strong performances from both its lineup and pitching staff. The Dodgers have largely controlled the recent history of the matchup, winning eight of the last 10 meetings between the teams.
While the Dodgers enter as the favorites, the Angels still feature plenty of talent capable of making the rivalry series competitive. With stars on both sides, playoff aspirations in Los Angeles, and bragging rights on the line, the latest edition of the Freeway Series should provide plenty of intrigue throughout the weekend.

Who’s In & Who’s Out
The Dodgers are hoping to get third baseman Max Muncy back during the Angels series after he passed concussion protocols following an on-field collision on June 4th. While he was held out the following day, he’s expected to be available sometime between June 6th and June 7th.
Several other injured Dodgers are making progress. Tommy Edman is currently on a rehab assignment and could return later this month, while reliever Evan Phillips began a rehab assignment on June 4th and is targeting a July return. Tyler Glasnow has resumed playing catch as he works back from lower back spasms, and Brock Stewart recently faced hitters as he recovers from a foot injury.
The Dodgers will remain without several key contributors for the foreseeable future. Teoscar Hernández is expected to miss about a month with a Grade 1 hamstring strain, while Kiké Hernández is likely out until late July or early August after suffering a significant oblique tear. Blake Snell is targeting a return no earlier than July after undergoing a procedure to remove loose bodies from his elbow.
Longer-term absences include Gavin Stone, Ben Casparius, Landon Knack, Bobby Miller, Edwin Díaz, Jake Cousins, and Brusdar Graterol. Stone, Casparius, Knack, and Miller are not expected back until 2026, while Díaz and Cousins are targeting the second half of 2026. Graterol recently underwent back surgery and has no timetable for his return.
