Dodgers Trade Former Top Prospect Antoine Kelly to Cubs for Cash
The Dodgers traded former top prospect Antoine Kelly to the Cubs for cash considerations after the left-hander struggled with Triple-A Oklahoma City.

LOS ANGELES, CA—While the Los Angeles Dodgers were unable to complete their Freeway season series sweep of the Los Angeles Angels over the weekend, they still capped off a nice short three-game homestand before today's off day.
However, lost in the shuffle was a minor-league trade over the weekend between the Chicago Cubs and the Dodgers that sent former top prospect Antoine Kelly to Chicago in exchange for cash considerations.
Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic initially reported the deal, and both clubs later confirmed it on their respective transaction pages on Monday.
The 26-year-old Kelly signed a minor league contract with Los Angeles during the offseason after spending the last several seasons in the Milwaukee Brewers ' farm system.
While Kelly possesses big-time strikeout numbers, his lack of command and inconsistent results have yet to allow him to crack a Major League roster, including his latest team, the Dodgers.
The left-hander impressed during Cactus League play with Los Angeles, hurling 9.2 scoreless innings, but was unable to duplicate that success with the Triple-A Oklahoma City Comets, where he’s waked 18% of batters faced with a 5.16 xERA and a 6.38 xFIP.
